Executive Profiles
Dave Mathews
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Mathews joined Healthy Directions, LLC in July 2010 as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. Previously, Mr. Mathews served as Interim CEO of the Blair Corporation following his tenure as President & Chief Operating Officer of Blair’s parent, Orchard Brands. Mr. Mathews other experience includes three years at Circuit City as President of Circuit City Direct. Earlier in his career, he spent three years at Dell, Inc. in marketing and merchandising, as well as 11 years in various management positions with LL Bean, Inc. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Maine.
Laurie Tawney
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
In her role as CFO, Ms. Tawney is responsible for the financial and administrative functions of the company, including accounting, treasury, human resources, and information technology. She joined Healthy Directions in 2004 after serving as Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Phillips International, Inc. from 1999 until the sale of Phillips Health. Prior to joining PII, she held various positions at Lockheed Martin Corporation including Director of Value Based Management, and Director of International Finance. Ms. Tawney has a BS degree in Business Administration from Towson University, a MBA degree from Loyola College, and she is a CPA.
Roger DiFato
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. DiFato is responsible for all Healthy Directions’ operations, including customer service, fulfillment services, purchasing, quality assurance, manufacturing, and facilities services. He holds a BA in Business Administration from Pace University. Mr. DiFato joined Healthy Directions in 2004 after serving in an operations leadership capacity with Phillips Health, Healthy Directions’ predecessor, for six years. Previously, he was Vice President of Operations for Selective Service and Supply Co., Inc. in Atlanta. Mr. DiFato was Director of Operations and Customer Service at American Express and was a member of the operations management team at Lillian Vernon.
Connie Hallquist
Executive Vice President, Merchandising
Ms. Hallquist joined Healthy Directions, LLC in 2010 as Executive Vice President, Merchandising and New Product Development. Previously, she served as President, New Business Ventures, for Orchard Brands, a $1 billion catalog holding company. In 2007, Orchard Brands acquired the company that Ms. Hallquist founded in 2000, Gold Violin, a multi-channel retailer offering helpful products for independent living. Prior to Gold Violin, Ms. Hallquist held the position of Managing Director at Prophet, a brand strategy consulting firm, where she oversaw the firm's flagship clients including Williams-Sonoma, Audi, UBS, and Levi Strauss & Co. She holds a BS in French Language & Literature from the University of Virginia and a MBA degree from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
Gregory Sweeney
Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
Mr. Sweeney joined Healthy Directions, LLC in June 2011 as Executive Vice President, Marketing. Previously, Mr. Sweeney had served as VP and General Manager of Direct Marketing at Brookstone, a multi-channel specialty retailer focused on innovative products that make life more enjoyable and fun. In that role, Mr. Sweeney directed all aspects of the Catalog and Internet division for close to 10 years. Mr. Sweeney worked for Office Depot from 1998 to 2001 where he oversaw all customer database functions. He was also employed by L. L. Bean from 1981 to 1998, where he progressed through many responsibilities including serving as Vice President of Customer Loyalty Marketing. Mr. Sweeney holds a BS from the University of Maine and an MBA from Northeastern University in Boston.
